MEET CARL GREENIDGE
40+ Years of Martial Arts Experience
Carl's journey into martial arts and self-defence began in 1983, when a good friend and colleague introduced him to the martial arts at Priory Community Centre in Acton.
For the next 15 years, Carl trained under the meticulous tutelage of Master Stan Brown, developing his skills in Lau Gar Kung Fu.
During this time, Carl also explored other Chinese martial arts, including Tai Chi and Wing Chun, while competing and sparring with fighters from a wide range of martial arts disciplines.
His training in Lau Gar included both empty-hand techniques and traditional weapons such as the bow staff and sword, developing a strong foundation in practical martial arts and self-defence.

From Lau Gar to JKD & Kali In 1998, Carl was introduced by his friend Dave Onuma to the rich and diverse fighting systems of Jeet Kune Do (JKD) and Kali.A year later, in 1999, Carl visited the Bob Breen Academy, where he met Guru Bob Breen. That meeting marked the beginning of a journey that continues to this day.Carl has remained committed to studying, training and developing his skills in JKD and Kali ever since. He is now one of only four full instructors under Guru Bob Breen, teaching JKD, Kali and Bob Breen's personal 4D Combat system.

Meet Angela
TRAINEE INSTRUCTOR

Angela works alongside Carl as an Assistant Instructor at Wembley Martial Arts, teaching both children and women. Having practised martial arts for over eight years, Angela has experienced first-hand the positive impact it can have on confidence, focus, discipline and self-belief. As a female martial artist, she is particularly passionate about encouraging women and children to discover these benefits for themselves. For Angela, martial arts is not about aggression or fighting. It is an art that teaches self-control, respect, concentration and self-discipline, while developing the skills and confidence needed to protect yourself when necessary. Through her teaching, Angela aims to create a supportive and encouraging environment where every student can progress at their own pace, become more confident in their abilities and carry the discipline and focus they learn in martial arts into their everyday lives.
